This is a very quick and easy recipe to keep on hand — literally only 2 ingredients! I usually mix up my spices depending on my mood that day. Sweet potatoes are so versatile they can be spiced up to satisfy any craving really. Sprinkle with cinnamon and top with cranberries for Thanksgiving, or a day when you’re really craving sweets. With protein and tons of vitamins in this veggie, its worth a second, third and fourth look 🙂


Sweet Potatoes – $1.98
Savory Spice Shop‘s Chinese 5 Spice – $1.15
Total: $3.13 – 4 servings = $0.78

2 Sweet Potatoes, cut in half
2 tsp Savory Spice Shop‘s Chinese 5 Spice seasoning

1. Bake sweet potatoes for 45 minutes at 425 degrees; or microwave for 5 minutes (be sure to poke holes in the potato skin so they don’t explode!)
2. Scoop out potato leaving a shell.
3. In a food processor or bowl using a mixer, combine potatoes and seasoning.
4. Scoop mixture back into potato shells.


Calories: Each boat = 61 calories!
