I am not usually a fan of pancakes, but these I will eat any day of the week. First, I melted chocolate the other day to use this week when I was craving chocolate, put it in the fridge and kept it there for “emergency use.” Ladies you know what I mean 😉
Enjoy this recipe, I make Mickey ears, but feel free to create anything cute for the kids — they have no clue there’s anything healthy about this recipe!
Whole Wheat Pancake Mixture – $1.98
1 Banana – $0.18
Oats – $1.00
Natural Peanut Butter – $2.99
TOTAL: $6.15 – minus the banana these ingredients make 15 servings, that’s only $0.41 per serving!
RECIPE for 6 Pancakes:
3/4 C Whole Wheat Pancake Mix
3/4 C Oats
2 TBSP Natural Peanut Butter (smooth or chunky)
1 Banana, cut up
1/4 C chocolate chips (optional)
1 C water
1. Mix pancake mixture, oats and peanut butter together with water. If you choose to include them, mix in the chocolate chips. Be sure to slowly add water until you have the proper pancake consistency.
2. Heat up a skillet, and use about 1/2 C of the mixture per pancake. Place slices of bananas into the uncooked side of the pancakes.
3. Once done serve on a plate, and drizzle with chocolate (optional).
Calories: 193 (plenty of caloric space leftover for a little chocolate syrup)
