For those days when you need a little pick me up – especially in the afternoon on a rough day.  rather than reaching for a candy bar, reach for your pick me ups.  Delicious chocolate with a bit of fruit and nuts and some crunchiness to truly indulge all your cravings at once.  The best part – a quick easy trip to your kitchen and voila you have a homemade and healthy treat!


COST:

All ingredients were on hand already.  I usually use what is lingering around the house, be it cranberries, prunes, apricots or any other dried fruit I have on hand.  I am not a raisin fan, but you can use those as well.  The nuts I usually have a bunch on hand that I munch on here and there through the week.

If you were to buy this from fresh ingredients, here is what you are looking at:

Bag Pretzels – $1.99
Dried Cranberries – $1.79
Bag Bulk Nuts – unsalted – $1.19
Dark Chocolate Chips – $1.99

TOTAL:  $6.96 – 20 servings = $0.35

RECIPE:

1/4 C Dark Chocolate Chips
1/4 C Mixed Unsalted Roasted Nuts
1/4 C Dried Cranberries or other dried fruit of your choice
1/4 C Thin Pretzels broken into pieces

1.  Melt chocolate over low heat until melted and smooth.
2.  Add remaining ingredients and mix together to coat all ingredients with chocolate.
3.  Place in muffin tin and refrigerate to set for at least 10 minutes.
